As part of your treatment plan, it may be felt that you would benefit from ultrasound and/or kinesiology taping alongside osteopathic treatment. We have found that both have proved useful at times to aid recovery.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound has been used as a treatment modality by therapists over the last 50 years. The metal treatment head of the ultrasound machine is gently moved over the surface of the skin in the region of the injury with the application of the gel. The patient does not feel anything during the treatment.
Please take a look at www.electrotherapy.org for further information on ultrasound therapy.
Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping first saw worldwide exposure during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Since then, this type of taping has become a popular form of muscle taping used by many health professionals and athletes across the world.
Please take a look at www.rocktape.net for further information. (Rock tape is the choice of tape used at Lydney Osteopaths, there are various other makes available)
